Thought this was an appropriate title, considering that we had another rainy weekend in the Ozarks. One of our dock friends was lamenting that the weather is more like we're in Seattle, Washington than Springfield, Missouri!Nevertheless, we enjoyed our weekend at the lake, had a relaxing time on our deck at the end of the dock. I headed down Saturday about noon, and was pleased to see a patch of blue sky peeking through the clouds as I neared Kimberling City. When I arrived, Dave was finishing cleaning the boat, and then we all relaxed for a few hours.
This was also the first weekend we brought the doggies down, since last summer. They were happy to be there, once they got reacquainted with all the other four-legged friends on the dock! 
Rocky, the lovable, clumsy Lab that he is, fell off the dock into the water and Dave had to reach down and pull him back up on to the dock. But for the most part, he enjoyed the weekend and was the hit of the party. For a 2 year-old, he is the most laid back, docile dog... At one point, he was even Chris' "lap dog"! 
And of course Jana and Chris' dogs were enjoying the rainy weekend as well, Koko fell asleep in Jana's lap as we sat on the deck Saturday afternoon.Sunday afternoon's weather was clear for just a couple of hours, and we were joined by a friend of mine, Dave Blackburn. Four of the 12 boat owners on the dock are named DAVE! So to help distinguish one from the other, they've been given dock nicknames: Long Dave (Long is his last name), Short Dave (for his stature), Bald Dave (obvious) and then my Dave, who is Sushi Dave - since he is half Japanese.
Our visitor was christened New Dave during his afternoon visit, and the dock was hard at work persuading him that he needed to become New Dave permanently and buy the houseboat for sale on the dock!
We took the boat out for a bit on Sunday, and enjoyed the sunshine. Hoping next weekend will be less rainy overall, so the kids can enjoy the weekend at the lake too. This week is Jace's first week out of school, and he is so happy to not have homework, so he can now play with friends in the evenings and stay up later. Ahhh, summer!
