Jace and I spent the first part of the holiday weekend with at my grandparents' house in Poplar Bluff, celebrating the 4th and my parent's 25th wedding anniversary. Grandmother and Grandpa's house that they bought last year has a pool, so the kids had a blast all weekend. It was great to spend time with everyone, the only ones that couldn't make it were Ann and Thomas. (Thom was on his way via Amtrak from KC through St. Louis to PB, but due to transportation trouble didn't actually make it to PB... we missed you, Thom!) We went to the annual 4th of July parade on Friday morning, and then to eat at Grandpa's daily breakfast place, Myrtle's Cafe. The afternoon was spent in the pool, and then we enjoyed a barbecue and a delicious cake to celebrate my dad and stepmom's 25 years. Here are a few assorted pics from the weekend:

Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad!
Cousin Krista and her new hubby, David Jace and I left early Saturday morning to head back to Springfield, pick up Neil and head to the lake to meet Dave and friends Lucas and Shawn, who are in visiting from St. Paul, MN. And, Ann and Matt have joined us for the remainder of their holiday weekend. Ann couldn't make it to Poplar Bluff because she was with Matt and his family for their annual get-together at Tablerock Lake. His family gathers once a year here for a week's vacation at a timeshare, and it is an annual tradition that Matt and Ann never miss. Matt's family left Saturday at noon, so Ann and Matt headed over to Kimberling City and joined us yesterday afternoon.
I'm sitting on the end of the dock posting this morning, and waiting for them to arrive about 10. Dave will be fixing blueberry and chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast, but he's still asleep now. Will post pictures from the 2nd half of our holiday weekend soon, but right now I'm going to go and enjoy it!!
