Should I even dare to think, much less write that!? But as I pulled into work today, I was shocked to see all the trees near the parking lot have recently burst into bloom!It was a welcome surprise, so I figured I'd celebrate the occasion with a picture... woo hoo, here comes lake weather!!
That was the highlight of my day; well, that and the field trip that I went on with my son's third grade class, to the 3M plant here in Springfield. It was a great learning experience for them and for me, and fun to hang out with a classroom of 9-year-olds for a few hours.
The low point of my day was on the way to Jace's school, as I made a quick trip to Walgreens for a couple of necessities. As I headed up the hill toward the stoplight near Walgreens, I saw a sheriff sitting near the road and KNEW he saw me. He got me, doing well over the posted 30 mph (I won't say how much over, since family reads this blog and someone may rat me out to Dad!). So I had to confess to my hubby tonight - not that he has a lot of room to get aggravated at me about it, he's certainly had his share of tickets when he was traveling for work. But this is my second ticket in the past year, so I will have to change my ways and start being more conscientious about my speed.
The other downside to this ticket is the unplanned hit on my finances. I had my plans to bid on a great necklace and earring set by local artist and friend Tammy Kirks at my women's event tomorrow night at Touch... looks like I'll be paying for my ticket instead. It's a bummer,having to sacrifice the possibility of getting some fabulous jewelry. I'm learning this lesson the hard way.
